Evansville Otters News Release
Evansville, IN-The Evansville Otters and Accuride have partnered together again for the "Breast Cancer Awareness Game." Tomorrow Saturday, August 15th the Otters will be knocking breast cancer out of the park with Accuride. Otters players will once again wear pink jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game with all jersey proceeds going towards the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. New this year the Otters will also be selling autographed pink hats and autographed pink mini-bats with half of those proceeds going towards the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In addition, the first thousand women through the gates will receive black and pink re-usable tote bag compliments of Accuride.
In 2009 alone an estimated 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer will occur in women in the United States alone. However, women are not the only ones affected by this disease about 1,910 men will be diagnosed and 440 men will die from breast cancer in 2009. Breast cancer affects everyone from those battling the cancer to the emotion, mental and physical toll it takes on family and friends too. This is why the Evansville Otters and Accuride continue to partner together for the "Breast Cancer Awareness Night" and why your help will continue to raise needed funds for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure so they can continue to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all, and energize science to find the cures.
