Gary, IN: The Steelheads hosted the Yakima Sun Kings for the first time this season and were looking to continue their two game winning streak. The streak continued, as the Steelheads won 89-81 and captured 5 quarter points in the process.
The Steelheads jumped out to a 28-23 1st quarter lead and held on for a 50-49 halftime lead. Halftime scoring leader for the Steelheads was Shelly Clark with 10 points. Clark also had 7 rebounds. Bakari Hendrix had 15 points for the Sun Kings at the half.
The second half started like the first half, with the Steelheads jumping out to an early lead and then pouring it on at the end, winning 23-14. The Sun Kings managed to win the 4th quarter, 18-16, but the Steelheads won the contest 89-81.
Leading the way for the Steelheads was the InfinityProSports.com Player of the Game David Graves, who had 24 points. Jemeil Rich had 16 points and Shelly Clark had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Derek Grimm also pulled down 11 rebounds in the win. Bakari Hendrix had 17 points to lead the way for the Sun Kings.
