Bombers Pitch First Shutout Win Of The Season

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers shutout the Peoria Rivermen, 3-0, in front of 3,851 at the Nutter Center Saturday night. It was the first shutout victory for the Bombers this season, and Dayton is now 3-0-1 in their last 4 games.

The Bombers scored three times on ten shots in the first period, and held on for the 3-0 win. BRETT NOWAK opened the scoring at 7:04 of the first period. SCOTT CAMERON made it 2-0 with a shorthanded goal at 14:50. And Nowak capped the scoring with a shorthanded goal of his own at 16:56.

Peoria's starting goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu was pulled after allowing 3 goals on 10 shots in the first period. The Bombers tested Alfie Michaud with just 4 shots on goal through the final 40 minutes.

With 1:55 remaining in the third period, Rivermen enforcer David Kaczowka started a brawl with TYLER SCOTT that spread to all players on the ice, including both goaltenders (Simon Lajeunesse and Alfie Michaud) who were ejected from the game

The Bombers return to action tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon when they host the Trenton Titans at 2:00 PM. The "Coaches Corner Pre-Game Show" starts at 1:50 PM (EST) on 980 Homer, The Sports Animal and at daytonbombers.com.
