The Setup: Pigs Visit Louisville for Three-Game Set
August 10, 2018 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs begin a weekend series in Louisville tonight at 7:05 p.m.
PITCHING MATCHUP Ranger Suarez is first to take the hill for Lehigh Valley against Lucas Sims. The pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle. Learn more at affc.com.
Suarez makes his sixth start for the Pigs and third since his Major League debut. Since his start for Philadelphia, Suarez is 1-0 including six innings last time out while striking out five and allowing three runs. The Pigs saw Sims in June as a member of the Gwinnett Stripers, where he allowed just one run over five innings. Sims was traded to the Reds system from the Braves in the deadline-day Adam Duvall deal.
LAST GAME Tom Eshelman (2-11) allowed just two runs in five innings and that was enough for the Indians, who defeated Lehigh Valley 3-1. Click here to read a full recap
HEAD-TO-HEAD The Pigs last met the Bats during their first 2018 series at Coca-Cola Park. Lehigh Valley took the first three games of the four-game set. The IronPigs offense set the tone for the rest of the season scoring 33 runs in the series.
The Pigs won 5 of 7 vs. Louivislle in 2017, but just one of three on the road.
NEXT WEEK AT COCA-COLA PARK Fans can see the Pigs at Coca-Cola Park again on August 13 when the Durham Bulls visit Allentown.
The 2018 Season is the IronPigs' 11th season at Coca-Cola Park and 11th as the top affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Fans can get closer to the team than ever before with a Bacon, USA membership -- a year-round IronPigs experience pass featuring numerous amenities such as savings on parking at games and at the Majestic Clubhouse Store at Coca-Cola Park, on-field VIP access to watch batting practice, access to the annual holiday party, and more.
