After taking Game 1 in extras, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs go for the series win against the Rochester Red Wings tonight at Frontier Field.
PITCHING MATCHUP Enyel De Los Santos takes the ball for Lehigh Valley against Aaron Slegers for Rochester. The pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle. Learn more at affc.com.
De Los Santos goes for his eighth win of the season for the Pigs. He leads the IL with a 1.73 ERA. De Los Santos is 2-0 against the Red Wings this season including one start at Frontier Field. Slegers starts in the middle game for the Red Wings. The 25-year-old is 0-1 against Lehigh Valley this season and 5-5 overall in 13 starts.
LAST GAME Ranger Suarez made his Triple-A debut tonight in Rochester. The No. 9 prospect in the Phillies system allowed one run over 4 2/3 innings of work before exiting the game with an undisclosed injury. Suarez struck out six and allowed eight hits in the game. The Pigs would go on to take the game 2-1 in 10 innings. Click here to read a full recap.
HEAD-TO-HEAD This is the Pigs' second 2018 trip to Frontier Field. After this weekend the Pigs will make one more trip to Rochester when they wrap up the 2018 regular season in September.
The IronPigs leads the season series 5-4. Three of the five wins for the IronPigs this season against Rochester have come at Frontier Field. Overall the Pigs lead the all-time series 94-85 against the Red Wings.
NEXT WEEK AT COCA-COLA PARK The IronPigs return to Coca-Cola Park on Monday when they welcome the Syracuse Chiefs for a short two-game set. Prior to the game, 3,000 adults 18 and over will receive a Patriotic T-Shirt, and all fans can bring their furry friends for another TD Bank Dog Day.
