Kinston Indians News Release

The View From the Top - The K-Tribe gets a rare look at the top of the Southern Division as they start the day in first place for the first time since the second day of the season. Last year the K-Tribe did not spend a day in first in the first half. They led the Southern Division for the first 12 games of the second half. The Indians spent a lot of time at the top in previous season, winning the CL's First Half Southern Division title in 2004-2007.

Turning 31 - The K-Tribe racked up 15 runs last night, bringing their two day total at Myrtle Beach to 31. It is the most runs Kinston has scored in a two game stretch since they banged out 32 in August of 2007. In that span they beat Myrtle Beach on August 1st 10-3 and followed it up with a 22-10 whipping of Lynchburg on day later. Kinston ended up scoring seven runs the next night on Lynchburg, bringing their three game total to 39. The 2007 team was a monster offensively, ending the year with a franchise record 782 runs for the season.
