Potomac Nationals News Release

WOODBRIDGE, Va.- The Potomac Nationals announced today that right-handed reliever Clint Everts will be activated off the disabled list and join the P-Nats' bullpen for Wednesday's game against the Winston-Salem Dash. Additionally the club also announced that infielder Dan Lyons will be placed on the seven-day disabled list.

On the season, Everts has made one appearance in the opening weekend series against the Lynchburg Hillcats that lasted two innings. He surrendered two hits and one run in that outing. He was placed on the disabled list on April 14. Everts has played for Potomac over parts of the last four seasons appearing in 89 games for the P-Nats.

Lyons has been hampered by injuries since the season's opening week, playing in only five games before tweaking his hamstring in the series with the Salem Red Sox. Lyons had been swinging the bat well, hitting .278 in five games this season with a .435 on base percentage. Dan Nelson has been starting at second base in his absence.

Lyons becomes the third Nationals player sent to the disabled list this season joining Everts and catcher Travis Reagan who has yet to appear in a game in 2009.

Be sure to come out to the ballpark on Wednesday night for the final game of the first homestand of the season as the Potomac Nationals take on the Winston-Salem Dash in the rubber game of their three-game set. Wednesday is Belly Buster Night at Pfitzner Stadium where only $12 will get you a grandstand ticket to the game and all-you-can-eat Moe's Southwest Grill burritos, hamburgers, hot dogs, and more!
