
The Aftermath: Storm Completes Weekend Sweep

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm completed a two-game weekend sweep of the Sioux City Musketeers Saturday night at the Viaero Center in a 4-2 victory. Dane Dowiak, Artemi Nizameyev, Jake Richard, and August Falloon scored for the Storm in the win. Tri-City returns to action next weekend with back-to-back home games on Friday and Saturday against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Puck drop for each game is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Ryan Conmy netted the only goal of Saturday's 1st period to give the visiting Musketeers a 1-0 advantage in the matchup. The goal was netted at 5:47 of the opening period, and was scored on the powerplay. Garrett Brown and Tyler Hotson each notched an assist on the scoring play. Tri-City outshot Sioux City 14-10 in the 1st period, but trailed by one goal entering Saturday's middle period.
Dane Dowiak brought the game to a 1-1 tie with his seventh goal of the year early in the 2nd period. The goal was netted at 2:11 of the period, and was assisted by Daimon Gardner and Artemi Nizameyev. Nizameyev netted his second goal of the season at 11:57 of the 2nd period to give the Storm a 2-1 lead in the battle. The goal was assisted by Daimon Gardner and Dane Dowiak. Garrett Brown scored a powerplay goal with less than six minutes remaining in the period to tie the game for Sioux City. Brown's goal was assisted by Tyler Hotson. Jake Richard scored the final goal of Saturday's 2nd period with less than five minutes to play to give the Storm a 3-2 lead. The goal was Richard's twenty-second of the season, and was assisted by Daimon Gardner and Dane Dowiak. The Storm outshot the Musketeers 12-6 in the 2nd period, and carried a 3-2 lead into the 3rd period.
August Falloon scored the only goal of Saturday's 3rd period into an empty net with less than one minute remaining to seal the Storm's win. The goal was Falloon's eleventh of the year, and was netted at 19:14 of the final period. Dane Dowiak and Philippe Blais-Savoie recorded an assist on the scoring play. The Storm outshot the Musketeers 11-10 in the 3rd period, and 37-26 overall in the matchup.
Patriks Bçrziòð recorded the win in net for Tri-City after making 24 saves on 26 shots. Croix Kochendorfer dropped the game in goal for Sioux City after stopping 33 of the Storm's 36 shots. Tri-City improved to 22-16-2-3 in the win.
