
Storm Seeks Weekend Sweep of Musketeers

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm seeks a two-game weekend sweep of the Sioux City Musketeers tonight at the Viaero Center following last night's 4-3 home victory. Tri-City has won three of the first four games in this year's eight-game series against Sioux City. Tonight's crowd at the Viaero Center is projected to be the largest to this point in the 2022-2023 regular season. Tickets for tonight's battle between the Storm and the Musketeers are going fast, but are still available, and may be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Puck drop for tonight's home game at the Viaero Center is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (21-16-2-3) has collected points in the standings in four consecutive games following last night's 4-3 home win over Sioux City at the Viaero Center. August Falloon continued to build upon a career-best season with his tenth goal of the year in last night's opening period. Daimon Gardner scored Tri-City's Western Conference leading 38th powerplay goal of the season during the 1st period of last night's matchup. The goal was his eighth of the season. Trevor Connelly extended his league-leading longest active goal streak with his last second goal during Friday's 1st period. Connelly's goal was his twelfth goal of the year, and sixth in the last five games. He is now two games away from tying the longest goal streak in the USHL this season of seven games, held by Storm forward Evan Werner. Werner scored ten goals in his first seven games with the team from November 18th, 2022, to December 3rd, 2022. Jake Richard netted his third goal with Tri-City this season, and second goal scored on home ice, in last night's 2nd period. The goal scored by Richard was his twenty-first of the year, and was the game-winning goal of last night's win at the Viaero Center for the Storm. Scoring leaders for the Storm through the first forty-two games of the 2022-2023 regular season include Jake Richard (21), Evan Werner (14), Graham Gamache (13), Trevor Connelly (12), and Kieran Cebrian (11).
Sioux City (19-19-2-3) has won three of their last ten games following last night's one-goal road loss to Tri-City at the Viaero Center. The Musketeers have dropped three consecutive games against the Storm dating back to a 4-3 shootout loss at the Tyson Events Center on November 26th, 2022. Sam Deckhut, Ben Poitras, and Tyler Hotson each netted a goal for Sioux City in Friday night's road loss to Tri-City. The Musketeers have posted a 4-10-0-0 record against the Storm in games played at the Viaero Center over the past five seasons. Sioux City dropped last year's series against Tri-City with a final record of 3-5-1-0. The Musketeers' last regular season victory against the Storm at the Viaero Center was captured over three hundred days ago on April 8th, 2022. Scoring leaders for Sioux City entering tonight's road game include Ryan Conmy (25), Tyler Hotson (12), Ben Poitras (12), Dylan Godbout (11), Grant Slukynsky (11), and Kaden Shahan (11). The Musketeers currently trail the Storm by four points in the Western Conference standings.
