Texeira, Krum Back in Thunder Uniform

Trenton Thunder News Release


(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announce that RHP Kanekoa Texeira has been received from the GCL-Yankees and OF Austin Krum has been received from Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre. In a corresponding move, OF DeAngelo Mack has been transferred to Advanced-A Tampa. The moves leave the Thunder 24-man active roster at its maximum capacity.

Texeira returns to a Trenton Thunder uniform for the first time since 2009 when the Hawaii native went 9-6 with a 2.84 ERA in 41 appearances. The righty started the 2011 season with the Kansas City Royals and went 0-0 with a 2.84 ERA in six relief appearances. Texeira, originally selected by Chicago White Sox in the 22nd round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft, made his Major League debut on April 6, 2010 with the Seattle Mariners.

Krum has spent the last two-plus months with the Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Yankees, hitting .246 with 13 RBI's in 64 games. From the start of the season to May 21, the Colorado native hit .242 with 13 RBI's in 40 appearances in a Thunder uniform.

The Thunder and Aeros will play the finale of their three-game set from Waterfront Park on Thursday afternoon at 12:05 PM. Trenton will give the pearl to LHP Shaeffer Hall (10-4, 4.13), while the Aeros will counter with RHP Paolo Espino (4-0, 2.79).
