CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars won two of three road games on their trip to California and now return home for a weekend set against the San Diego Gulls beginning Friday.
-- THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE --
January 22 at 7:30 p.m. and January 23 at 7 p.m. vs. San Diego Gulls:
The Stars face off against the San Diego Gulls for the fourth and fifth time this season in a pair of divisional games at Cedar Park Center. Texas is 3-0-0-0 against the Gulls this season and have outscored San Diego, 16-7, in the season series overall. Brendan Ranford has been a catalyst for Texas against San Diego with eight points in three games (5-3=8) to lead all skaters in the series.
January 24 at San Antonio Rampage, 4 p.m.:
The I-35 Rivalry resumes with the 10th meeting this season between the Stars and Rampage. The Stars have won five of the previous nine matchups and six of the previous nine meetings have been decided by a goal. San Antonio's Joey Hishon leads all skaters in the series with 13 points (5-8=13). Travis Morin leads all Stars skaters in the series with 11 points (4-7=11).

January 15 at Bakersfield Condors, 4-2 Win:
Radek Faksa's slap shot with just over a minute remaining in regulation snapped a tie game and lifted the Texas Stars to a 4-2 win on Friday night over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 4,363 at Rabobank Arena. Faksa's game-winner came from the left circle with 1:09 to play, and gave the Stars their fourth win this season over the Condors in as many games. Greg Rallo added an empty-net goal to finish with two in the win, and Philippe Desrosiers turned aside 18 of 20 shots to earn his third straight victory.
January 16 at San Diego Gulls, 5-3 Win:
Brendan Ranford's hat-trick goal in the third held up as the game-winner as the Texas Stars won their fourth straight game in a 5-3 final over the San Diego Gulls on Saturday night in front of 10,491 in attendance at Valley View Casino Center. Ranford's game-winner came from the left circle with just under three minutes to play in regulation after Esa Lindell's point shot bounced off the end boards to set up the Stars' forward for his third goal and fourth point in the game. It was the Stars third win in as many games over the Gulls and allowed Texas to close the gap on second place San Jose in the AHL's Pacific Division with the Barracuda's overtime loss on Saturday.
January 17 at Ontario Reign, 2-1 Loss:
Playing their third game in as many nights, the Texas Stars jumped out to a 1-0 lead but gave up a pair of goals in the third period in a 2-1 road loss to the Ontario Reign on Sunday evening to close out their West Coast road trip in front of 9,491 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Jason Dickinson scored the Stars' only goal in the loss. Texas saw their four-game winning streak come to a close, and in three matchups this season between the two teams, the Stars have come out on the wrong side of a one-goal decision each time, including one in overtime.

Travis Morin is tied for first in the AHL with 38 points this season. Philippe Desrosiers is 3-0-1 in his last four starts with a 1.75 goals against average and .940 save percentage. Jason Dickinson is tied for the AHL lead with three shorthanded goals this season. Esa Lindell became the fifth different player from Texas to be called up to the NHL on Monday. It's the first NHL call-up of his career. The Stars assigned defenseman Zack Kamrass to the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads on Monday.
