Ontario Reign News Release

The Week That Was

The Ontario Reign welcomed the San Diego Gulls, Bakersfield Condors and Texas Starts to Citizens Business Bank Arena last weekend for a three-game in three-day set and skated away with a week record of 2-1-0-0 and improved their overall record to 21-10-2-1 to on top of the Pacific Division.

After a quiet week of practice, the Reign took on the Gulls Friday evening, flying to a 5-0 victory behind a goal and two assists from defenseman Vincent LoVerde, two tallies for forward Jordan Samuels-Thomas and 27 saves from goalie Peter Budaj. For Budaj, the shutout was his AHL-leading fifth of the season.

On Saturday, the Condors rolled into the Inland Empire and took off with a 4-2 win. Forward Nic Dowd scored both goals for Ontario.

Goaltender Michael Houser made his season debut Sunday afternoon and forward Andrew Crescenzi buried the game-winning goal with 23 seconds left in the game to push the Reign to a 2-1 comeback victory over the Stars.
