
Texas Shuffles Roster, Bachman And Tousignant Called Up From Idaho

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars announced on Tuesday that goalie Richard Bachman (pronounced - BAHK-man) and forward Mathieu Tousignant (pronounced - two-suh-know) have been recalled from the Idaho Steelheads, Texas' ECHL Affiliate. The Stars also announced that defenseman Trevor Ludwig has been reassigned to Idaho.
Bachman receives his first call up to the American Hockey League after leading the Idaho Steelheads to an ECHL-best 16-3-0-1 record. The rookie goaltender is leading the ECHL with nine wins, is second with a 2.12 goals against average and is tied for fourth overall with a.916 save percentage. Bachman leaves Idaho with a 9-2-0-1 mark.
The 22-year old was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round (#120 overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Bachman played the previous two seasons with Colorado College, posting a 39-20-11 record with a 2.24 goals against average and a.922 save percentage. In two NCAA seasons, he posted seven shutouts.
Tousignant was assigned by Texas to the Steelheads on Oct. 7 without seeing any game action. In 20 games with Idaho, the forward has six goals and 11 assists for 17 points. The St. Etienne-de-Lauzon, PQ native was second on the team with 53 penalty minutes and third among all ECHL rookies. Tousignant's 17 points placed him eighth overall among all first-year skaters in the ECHL and third best among all Steelheads.
The rookie forward played in three preseason games for Texas without netting a point. Tousignant spent the last four years playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In 202 junior games, the 6-foot, 185-pounder scored 59 goals and dished out 117 assists for 176 points
Ludwig played in two games with one assist during his latest stint with the Stars. For the season, Ludwig has one assist in four games with Texas this season. The 24-year old has played in 11 games for Idaho this year, scoring two goals and adding four assists for six points. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder also added 24 penalty minutes with the Steelheads this season.
In 35 games with Idaho in 2008-09, Ludwig scored twice and added eight assists for ten points. The Grapevine, TX native also suited up in 16 games for the AHL's Manitoba Moose last season, going scoreless with 18 penalty minutes. Ludwig was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round (#183 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
After a three-game road trip, the Stars will begin a four-game home stand on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:30 pm against the Peoria Rivermen. Cedar Park Center will provide $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs for the game against Peoria. Texas will host Rockford on Friday, December 11th at 7:30 pm, and then again on Saturday, December 12th at 7:00 pm. Friday, Cedar Park Center will host Hockey Puck Night and provide $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. The first 3,000 fans to arrive will receive an inaugural season hockey puck. On Saturday night, State Farm will provide its Family 4-Pack which includes four tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 soft drinks for $44.00. The first 2,000 fans to arrive at Cedar Park Center will receive a Texas Stars winter hat.
