Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have signed right wing Jon Rheault to a professional tryout agreement and recalled left wing Dwight King from the ECHL's Ontario Reign, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Rheault, 23, is a native of Deering, New Hampshire and played in 24 games with the Monarchs during the 2008-09 season. He collected five points (2-3=5) and 12 penalty minutes while skating for Manchester last season before being released to Ontario where he collected 41 points (19-22=41) in 51 games. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound right wing is tied with former Monarchs center Greg Hogeboom (8-8=16) for Ontario's team lead in points (10-6=16) and his 10 goals also lead the Reign this season. He was also held off the scoreboard when he played in four games with the Providence Bruins this season. Rheault joined the Monarchs last season following four years at Providence College. Rheault will wear No. 50 for the Monarchs.
King, 20, is in his rookie season and is expected to make his AHL debut on Wednesday night against the Portland Pirates at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound native of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan has nine points (4-5=9) and nine penalty minutes with the Reign this season. King played the last five seasons with the Western Hockey League's Lethbridge Hurricanes where he registered 189 points (79-110=189) and 170 penalty minutes in 273 games. King will wear No. 21 for the Monarchs.
The Monarchs return to the Verizon Wireless Arena to face-off with the Pirates on Wednesday, December 2 at 7:00 p.m. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGAM 900/1250 AM and at www.manchestermonarchs.com.
