Texas Releases Dave Bonk

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars announced on Wednesday that the club has released center Dave Bonk from a PTO (professional tryout agreement).

Bonk played in 11 games with Texas, scoring twice and setting up one other for three points with the Stars. The 28-year old center had played the majority of the season with the CHL's Allen Americans. In 33 games with the Americans, Bonk scored 15 goals and added 29 assists for 44 points. The 188-pound center also appeared in six games with the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons earlier this year, posting one assist and four penalty minutes.

Texas hosts the San Antonio Rampage on Friday at 7:30 PM. Friday is a 3-2-1 Night, where fans may purchase $3.00 domestic drafts, $2.00 soft drinks and $1.00 hot dogs. The Stars take on the Houston Aeros on Saturday at 7:00 PM. Saturday is Military Appreciation Night and the first 2,500 fans will receive a Texas Stars camouflage hat, sponsored by SportClips. The Stars will also wear military themed jerseys to be auctioned off after the game with proceeds benefiting the Cedar Park Veterans Memorial. Fans may also purchase the State Farm Family Four Pack consisting of four tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs for $44.
