
B-Sens Release Zemlak, Reassign Two to Elmira

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have released goaltender Garrett Zemlak from his professional try-out contract.
The native of Saskatoon, Sask. made his American Hockey League debut in Binghamton's 5-2 loss to the Adirondack Phantoms on Feb. 27.
Zemlak, 21, was traded from the Stockton Thunder to Elmira on Jan. 31. The 6-1, 195-pound netminder has appeared in 21 total ECHL games this season with Elmira, Kalamazoo and Stockton posting a 5-9-4 record, a 2.90 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage.
The Binghamton Senators also announced today that they have reassigned forwards Corey Cowick and Yannick Tifu to the Elmira Jackals (ECHL).
Cowick, 22, was recalled to Binghamton on Feb. 9. The Gloucester, Ont. native recorded his first AHL point, an assist, in Binghamton's 4-1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Feb. 23. Cowick has recorded one goal, three assists and added nine penalty minutes in 11 games with the B-Sens this season. In 29 games with the Jackals he has five goals, eight assists and added 68 penalty minutes.
Tifu, 26, was recalled for the third time on March 1. In seven games with the B-Sens this season, the Brossard, Que. native has one point (an assist). He currently ranks second overall on the Jackals in scoring with 57 points (19 goals, 38 assists), has amassed 91 penalty minutes and is a plus-12.
All three players will rejoin the Jackals tonight as they host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 p.m.
The B-Sens next see action as they host the Norfolk Admirals on Sunday, March 6 at 5:05 p.m. Tickets are $17.75 for side seating, $16.75 for end seating.
