A pair of division leaders go head-to-head tonight when Milwaukee makes its lone visit of the season to Hamilton... The Admirals sit atop the West Division - and the entire Western Conference - at 34-16-3-7 (78 points), while the Bulldogs (32-21-1-5, 70 points) are locked in a three-way tie for the North Division lead along with Manitoba and Lake Erie... Milwaukee, which is coming off a 3-1 win in Toronto on Wednesday, collected a 3-2 home-ice victory over the Bulldogs on Jan. 9 in the teams' only previous meeting this year... Admirals leading scorer Linus Klasen (22-23-45) has missed six straight games to injury, while Blake Geoffrion (11-26-37) and defenseman Jonathon Blum (8-26-34) are on NHL recall to Nashville... Defenseman Aaron Johnson has an assist in five consecutive games (0-6-6) for Milwaukee, while Mike Bartlett (2-2-4) and rookie Ryan Flynn (2-2-4) have a point in three of their last four games... Hamilton's five-game points streak (4-0-0-1) ended on Sunday in a 5-2 loss to Grand Rapids... Nigel Dawes has netted a goal in his first three games as a Bulldog and has scored in seven straight outings overall (8-2-10)... Rookie Olivier Fortier shows four assists in his last three games for Hamilton, and Aaron Palushaj has scored three goals in that span... Ex-Admiral Drew MacIntyre (12-5-1, 2.91, .906 with Chicago this season) could make his first appearance for the Bulldogs tonight after he was acquired by parent-club Montreal on Monday.
Connecticut returns to the XL Center for the first time since Feb. 6 tonight to host Springfield in the Atlantic Division rivals' first meeting since Jan. 22... The Whale and Falcons, who are tied for fourth place in the Atlantic Division and sit one point out of a playoff spot, will collide five times over the season's final six weeks... Springfield has posted a 6-2-0-0 mark in its last eight games, and both losses were to division leaders - a 5-0 setback to Manchester on Feb. 22 and a 5-4 loss in Wilkes-Barre on Sunday... Greg Moore, a former two-time 20-goal scorer and captain in Hartford who was re-acquired by the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday, could make his Falcons debut tonight... Falcons captain Ben Guite is riding a four-game scoring streak (2-2-4) and has a point in eight of his last 10 contests (4-6-10)... Rookie defenseman John Moore has just one assist in his last six outings but boasts 1-3-4 totals in five games against Connecticut this season... The Whale totaled only one goal in dropping back-to-back games at Charlotte last week... Jeremy Williams, who leads Connecticut in goals (25) and points (44), has a team-high five points (2-3-5) in the season series with Springfield... Evgeny Grachev has recorded a point in three of his last four games (1-2-3) for the Whale, who are just 12-13-2-2 on home ice in 2010-11.
Abbotsford continues its five-game southern road trip tonight with a date in San Antonio in a battle of teams fighting to get back into a playoff position in their respective divisions... The Heat, currently four points out of a postseason spot in the North, suffered a 4-0 loss to Providence last Friday but have outscored opponents 11-5 in back-to-back wins since then... Heat forward Stefan Meyer, who spent last season with San Antonio, shows four goals in the last two games (4-1-5) after totaling six goals in his first 36 contests this season (6-4-10)... Ales Kotalik is coming off a two-goal effort at Texas on Tuesday and has produced 12 points (2-10-12) in 12 games since joining Abbotsford from parent-club Calgary... Abbotsford goaltender Leland Irving, a third-year pro, ranks second in the AHL with a career-high 25 victories (25-19-2, 2.37, .910) and leads the league in minutes played (2,835)... San Antonio, which will play seven of its next eight games on home ice, is one point back of Oklahoma City and Chicago for the Western Conference's crossover playoff spot... Former AHL MVP Randy Robitaille has a point in four of his last five games (1-3-4) after going scoreless in his first two contests with the Rampage...
