Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Hamilton, ON--Former Admirals defenseman Alex Henry scored the game-winning goal with 3.5 seconds left in overtime to lead the Hamilton Bulldogs over Milwaukee 5-4 in Hamilton.

Milwaukee's power play converted two of four chances in the game but could not convert with Bulldogs defenseman Kyle Klubertanz in the box for high sticking with 2:25 to play. Back at even strength, Henry converted a give-and-go with Nigel Dawes for his first goal of the season at 4:56 of overtime.

Hamilton forward Dawes struck twice in the first period, 98 seconds apart, to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. Dawes intercepted a Grant Lewis pass between the circles in Milwaukee's zone and fired a shot into the net at 16:33. At 18:11, Bulldogs forward Aaron Palushaj slid a pass under a couple Milwaukee sticks to Dawes who scored from the slot once again. Dawes has goals in eight straight games, the longest streak of the season in the AHL.

Dawes completed the hat trick at 1:23 of the second period with a backhanded shot from the left circle. That ended the night for starting goalie Mark Dekanich as he was replaced by Smith.

The Admirals finally got on the board at 4:31 of the second period when Teemu Laakso crept to the net from the right point and converted a Chris Mueller pass from the left circle for his third goal of the season. Ryan Thang also notched an assist.

Another defenseman got the Admirals within one when Scott Ford's slapshot from the right point eluded MacIntyre at 6:26 of the second period. Milwaukee forwards Ryan Flynn and Mike Bartlett both recorded assists after doing some solid work behind the Hamilton net.

The Bulldogs had a chance to take a two-goal lead again when Aaron Palushaj was awarded a penalty shot at 14:31 of the second period, but his shot deflected off Smith's catching glove.

The Admirals tied the game at 18:27 of the second period with a power play goal from Andreas Thuresson. Mueller's shot from the left circle was stopped by the left pad of MacIntyre, but Thuresson tucked the rebound into the net for his ninth goal of the season, third on the power play.

The Bulldogs reclaimed the lead when Dany Masse deflected a rebound of a Hunter Bishop shot past Smith's left pad at 6:59 of the third period. But, Milwaukee used the power play to tie the game once again at 10:23 of the third. Aaron Johnson fed Thuresson at the left point. Thuresson's shot knuckled to the net where Gabriel Bourque backhanded the puck past MacIntyre for his 12th goal of the season and third on the power play.
