LAS VEGAS, NV - The Texas Legends (8-13) finished strong but were unable to complete the 27-point comeback, falling to the Raptors 905 (13-6) 111-102.
The Raptors got off to a hot start, hitting 52% in the first to take a 36-22 lead on Texas. The two went shot-for-shot in the second, with Texas pulling within 11. With under two minutes in the first half, 905 extended the lead to 20 and held on to a 17-point advantage at the buzzer.
Three minutes into the third, Jameel Warney knocked down a three to make it a 16-point game, but the Raptors responded with eight straight and continued to answer all of Texas' attempts. Facing a 21-point deficit heading into the final minutes, Texas came out firing, hitting seven straight before 905 could answer. Midway through the fourth, Texas again found their streak fighting a 17-point gap with 10 unanswered points, but that would be as close as the comeback would get.
Texas had seven players finish with double-digit scores led by Daryl Macon with his 20th straight, finishing the night with the team's only double-double of 16 points, 10 assists. Ray Spalding and Warney both neared the double-double mark with Spalding finishing at 13 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and Warney adding another full line of 13 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 3 blocks. Ryan Boatright made it a trio, also scoring 13, while grabbing 4 boards and dishing out 2 assists in his 14 minutes off the bench.
Jordan Loyd posted a game-high 33 points on 10-of-17 for the night while adding 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and another game-high 7 steals. Deng Adel added 25 points while leading the team with 8 rebounds. Duane Notice added 19 points (4-of-8 from outside), 3 rebounds, and 2 assists, and Christian Watford rounded out the double-digit scorers for 905 with 10 points, 5 rebounds off the bench.
Texas will get a break before heading South to take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on the road Dec. 27th at 7pm. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN+.
