Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Senators lost 2-1 to the Hartford Yard Goats Saturday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The Yard Goats took advantage of two Senators errors in the fourth inning and scored a pair runs on two hits to score their only runs of the game. The Senators trimmed the lead to 2-1 on a single by Tres Barrera in the sixth. Hartford's bullpen kept it a one-run game for the final three innings and retired 11 of the last 12 Senators batters. Harrisburg falls to 24-10 following the loss while the Yard Goats improve to 19-17.
Turning Point
Hartford's Tyler Nevin led off the bottom of the fourth with a single to right center field. Alan Trejo then reached on a fielder's choice on a play where the Senators committed a pair of errors and allowed Nevin to score all the way from first base. The turning point of the game was when the very next hitter, Willie Abreu, singled to center to plate Trejo from third base and make it 2-0 Yard Goats. That run proved to be the eventual winning run.
On Capitol Hill
Jackson Tetreault started and took the loss in the outing. The right-hander scattered seven hits over six innings, allowing two runs, both unearned, while striking out six and walking none. He retired six of the last seven batters he faced. Trevor Rosenthal, with the Senators on a rehab assignment from the Nationals, retired all three batters he faced including striking out one. Ronald Pena gave up one hit and struck out two in his one inning of work out of the bullpen.
With the Gavel
The Senators scored their only run of the game on a two-out RBI base-hit by Tres Barrera. The single scored Ian Sagdal to make it a 2-1 game in the sixth inning. Tyler Goeddel finished the game with two hits, the only Senator with a multi-hit night.
