Teravainen Recalled, Van Riemsdyk Assigned to Rockford

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Teuvo Teravainen from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and assigned defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk to Rockford.

Teravainen, 20, has tallied four points (2G, 2A) in 15 games with Chicago this season. The Helsinki, Finland, native has recorded 25 points (6G, 19A) in 39 games with Rockford this season. He registered his first career three-point outing (1G, 2A) on Dec. 28 vs. the Chicago Wolves. In six games since his return to Rockford on Feb. 12, Teravainen recorded two assist for the IceHogs. Chicago's first-round pick (18th overall) in the 2012 National Hockey League Draft, Teravainen tallied four shots on goal in three regular-season tilts with the Blackhawks last year.

van Riemsdyk, 23, has one assist in 18 games in his first professional season with the Blackhawks. Signed as a free agent on March 24, 2014, van Riemsdyk tallied his first professional point with an assist on Nov. 9 against San Jose. The Middletown, N.J., native previously recorded 75 points (16G, 59A) in three seasons at the University of New Hampshire.

Next Home Game: Friday, Mar. 6 vs. Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. The IceHogs complete their season series with the Barons as Oklahoma City returns to the BMO for Rockford Hockey Club Night. Rockford will be recognizing youth hockey in the community by wearing specialty Rockford Hockey Club sweaters during the game.
