
Team Blue Triumphs in Royals' Intra-Squad Game

Victoria, BC- Team Blue tallied markers in all three periods to win the Royals' 2015 Intra-Squad game 4-3 over Team White on Wednesday night.
Team Blue's 2014 draft pick, Dawson Frank, scored the game winner in the final frame after Kevin Pierce broke a 1-1 tie in the second period. Chaz Reddekopp tallied the opening goal of the contest in the first period for Team Blue, while Landon Welykholowa scored in the second frame.
Newly signed Ethan Price led the way for Team White with two goals, while Duncan, BC born Ben Berard tallied the other marker for his team.
Signed goaltenders Dylan Myskiw and Griffen Outhouse split the duties for Team Blue and combined to stop 31 of 34 shots directed their way for the win. Team White countered with Evan Smith who turned aside 33 of 37 shots.
Team Blue capitalized on the man-advantage, and went 2/4=50.0%. Team White meanwhile went 0/2=0.0%.
The Royals will begin their pre-season on Friday in Everett, WA at the annual Holiday Inn Preseason Classic. Victoria will play the Everett Silvertips on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The Royals finish the tournament against the Tri-City Americans on Sunday with puck drop scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
Victoria's lone home contest of the pre-season is set for Sunday, September 13th when they host the Vancouver Giants. Puck drop is set for 2:05 p.m. at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
