SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Blades announced today that forward prospect Cameron Hausinger has been signed to a Standard Western Hockey League Player Agreement.

The 16-year-old product of Anchorage, AK, was chosen by the Blades in the 7th Round, 135th overall in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The 5-foot-9, 182-pound right winger spent the 2014-15 season with the Skipjakcks Hockey Club, in Maryland, scoring 22 goals and adding 23 assists in only 24 games.

This signing represents a historical moment for the Saskatoon Blades, with Hausinger being the first American born player to be drafted and signed by the Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club.

"In a lot of ways, it's one of the biggest signings we've made since we've been here in the last two years" said Managing Partner, Colin Priestner.

"It's a great message to all the Americans that we've drafted and that we will (draft) in the future" Priestner mentioned in regards to this signing showcasing Saskatoon as a viable, and successful option for many players from south of the border.

"He's a special player," Priestner added. Hausinger's unique combination of speed, skill, and physicality have everyone in Blades' management excited for what he will bring over the next few years.
