Taylor Takes Bees to Victory

BURLINGTON, IA (August 9) -DH Beau Taylor (1-5) hit an RBI single in the 10th inning to give the Burlington Bees (15-29) a 5-4 win over the Clinton LumberKings (23-21) before 628 fans at Community Field on Tuesday night.

The LumberKings scored a run in the first inning against Burlington RHP Jose Macias. 3B Carlos Ramirez (2-5) singled and went to second base on a single by CF Mike McGee (2-5). DH Mickey Wiswall (1-5) hit a double to score Ramirez for a 1-0 lead.

Clinton scored two runs in the fourth inning to increase its lead to 3-0. Wiswall was hit by a pitch, moved to second base when 1B Tim Morris (1-2) singled and to third when RF Kalian Sams (0-2) walked. C John Hicks (2-4) hit a two-run single to make it 3-0.

The Bees scored two runs in the fourth inning on a two-run home run by 3B Tony Thompson (1-3) to get within one run at 3-2 and tied the game at 3-3 with an RBI single by RF Jose Crisotomo (1-4) in the fifth inning.

The LumberKings took a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning on a two-run single by C John Hick (2-4). 1B Josh Whitaker (1-4) hit a solo home run over the right field wall in the sixth inning to tie the game at 4-4.

In the 10th inning CF Tyreace House (1-5) hit a one-out single for the Bees and moved to second base on a single by LF Royce Consigli (1-4). Taylor ripped a line-drive single to right field to score House for the win.

The Bees start a three-game series at Quad Cities on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. RHP Blake Hassebrock (6-6, 2.35) gets the start for the Bees against RHP Trevor Rosenthal for the River Bandits. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:40 p.m. on Newsradio 1490 KBUR and online at gobees.com.
