FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Lansing Lugnuts (26-18, 64-47) fell behind early and could not overcome the Fort Wayne TinCaps (23-21, 53-60), losing 6-5 in the series finale at Parkview Field.

Fort Wayne scored two runs off starter Marcus Walden, but did most of their damage against the Lugs bullpen. Dustin Antolin (Loss, 1-1) allowed three runs in one inning of work, and Shawn Griffith issued a bases-loaded walk to bring in the eventual game-winning run.

Jake Marisnick continued his torrid hitting, going 3-for-4 with three singles and a walk, finishing the series a remarkable 11-for-17, including two triples, a home run, and four runs driven in.

The offense got a spark from Bryson Namba, who hit his sixth home run of the season, and K.C. Hobson, who went 2-for-5 with a double, but the Lugnuts failed to take advantage of scoring opportunities, leaving nine runners on base.

Lansing left the bases loaded trailing by one run in the eighth, when Markus Brisker struck out looking to end the inning.

The Lugnuts lost their first four-game series of the second-half.

The Lugs next make the short trip to South Bend to take on the Silver Hawks in a three-game series. Lansing left-hander Sean Nolin (2-3, 3.76) squares off against South Bend righty Tyler Green (3-7, 5.36).

The Lugs return to action at Cooley Law School Stadium on Saturday, August 13, with LAFCU Fireworks following the series-opener against the TinCaps. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
