Tarsi Gets First Victory as Snappers Pound LumberKings

Three big innings keyed Beloit's second straight victory over the LumberKings on Wednesday night, 11-3. Michael Tarsi picked up his first win of the season going six innings allowing three runs off nine hits.

Clinton struck first with three runs right off the bat in the top of the first inning. The LumberKings got their three runs off of Michael Tarsi on five hits, highlighted by a Jonathan Greene two-run double to center.

Beloit tied the game up right away with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning. Chris Cates scored from third on a wild pitch, Jair Fernandez hit an RBI-double and Steve Singleton delivered an RBI-single to left to tie the game up at 3-3.

The defending Western Division champs piled three more runs on in the bottom of the third inning. The inning was highlighted by a Chris Parmelee solo homer to right and a Joe Benson two-run single to left. The three runs put Beloit up 6-3 after three innings.

The fourth inning proved to be the nail in the coffin for the Snappers as they scored five more times to go up 11-3. The Snaps got their five runs off seven hits and one Clinton error.

Neither team scored again on the night as the Snappers went on to win by the final of 11-3.

Every player in the Snapper lineup got at least one hit with Jair Fernandez and Steve Singleton registering four a piece. Ben Revere also added three hits including his third triple of the season.

The win pushed Beloit's overall record back to .500 (19-19). Clinton dropped to 25-10 on the season.
