Bees Lose By Two For Second Day In A Row

Appleton, WI (May 14, 2008) - The Burlington Bees were unable to hold on to a 1-0 lead Wednesday afternoon as they lost to Wisconsin 3-1. The Bees allowed two runs in the bottom of the eight for the second day in a row en route to a two-run loss.
The Bees got on the scoreboard first in the top of the third inning. With one out, Wilson Tucker hit a single and then scored on a Mike Moustakas triple. Despite having Moustakas at third with one out, the Bees were not able to extend their lead.
Eduardo Paulino got the start for the Bees and pitched well. He pitched six innings allowing one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts and one walk. The only run he gave up came in the fifth inning. Joe Dunigan led the inning off with a double, moved to third on a single and then scored on a Denny Almonte sacrifice fly.
Henry Arias came out of the bullpen for the Bees and pitched one scoreless inning before allowing two runs in his second inning of work. Calvin Beamon led the inning off with a triple and scored on an Edilio Colina single. Colina moved to second on a ground-out and then scored on an Alex Liddi single to give the Timber Rattlers their 3-1 advantage. Arias took the loss to move to 2-3 after allowing two runs on four hits in two innings of work.
The Bees are now a season-high seven games under .500 with a record of 15-22. Tucker led the Bees at the plate going 3-5 with a run scored. Mike Moustakas and Todd Balduf each had two hits.
The Bees and Timber Rattlers wrap up the four-game series on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 with Edward Cegarra taking the mound for the Bees.
