Tanner Roark Named IL Pitcher of the Week

Syracuse, NY--The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce that right-handed pitcher Tanner Roark has been named the International League Pitcher of the Week.

Roark, in his first Triple-A season, earned a pair of wins this week. He threw a total of 14 innings and allowed just two earned runs on nine hits. In his two starts against Rochester and Lehigh Valley, Roark walked two and struck out 13. The were of seven-inning starts were Roark's first two seven-inning starts this season. In the two starts this week, Roark did not allow a run after the first inning in each.

The Chiefs remain home this evening to take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at 7:00 at Alliance Bank Stadium.
