The IronPigs (59-51) play a Game Four of a five-game series against the last-place Syracuse Chiefs (52-57) at Alliance Bank Stadium... With a doubleheader split yesterday (W, 6-3; L, 6-1), the Pigs have dropped nine of their last 14 contests and have gone just 9-16 in their last 25 games --- going from a season-high 3.0-games up to 2.5-games back in the North... The Chiefs -- Washington's top affiliate -- have won five of their last seven games and are 8-5 in their last 13 affairs after losing nine straight games July 5-17. Since climbing to 43-38 on June 28, Syracuse is just 9-19 since.

RHP Jonathan Pettibone* (NR) will make his Triple-A debut for LHV against RHP Austin Bibens-Dirkx (0-2, 4.93).

First-pitch is 7 p.m... Tomorrow's series finale is at noon.

*Today, RHP Jonathan Pettibone was officially promoted to LHV from Reading (AA), where the 22-year-old was 9-7, 3.30 ERA in 19 GS. The former 3rd-round pick (2008) and son of a former ML pitcher (Jay Pettibone, who went 0-4, 5.33 in 4 GS with the 1983 Twins), is the No. 4 Prospect in the system according to Baseball America.

In the doubleheader yesterday, the Pigs 20 hits -- and 19 were singles... Ironically, the only extra-base hit was a 2B by RHP B.J. Rosenberg -- his first professional hit (he would also add a single later, finishing 2-3)!
