Tallackson Becomes Latest Addition to Rivermen Roster

ST. LOUIS (September 23, 2009) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has reduced its roster to 29 players by assigning forward Barry Tallackson to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Tallackson, 26, played in 56 games with the Lowell Devils (AHL) last season, recording 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) and 29 penalty minutes. The 6-5, 215-pound forward has played in 20 NHL games all with New Jersey, registering two points (one goal, one assist) along with two penalty minutes.

The Grafton, North Dakota native was originally drafted by New Jersey in the second round, 53rd overall in the 2002 Entry Draft.

The Rivermen now have 35 players (21 forwards, 10 defensemen, and four goalies) in training camp leading into their preseason games this weekend against Rockford. Peoria will take on the IceHogs at Carver Arena on Friday night at 7 p.m. The series will shift to the MetroCentre on Saturday night. Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Hippie 101.1 FM.
