Louisville Bats News Release

GWINNETT, Ga. - Starter Bo Takahashi dialed in for 6.0 innings of one-run ball and Errol Robinson lifted his first homer of the season, but the Gwinnett Stripers rallied late for the second straight game to plate four runs in the seventh inning and knock off the Louisville Bats 11-1 Saturday night at Coolray Field.

Takahashi continued the Bats' trend of dominant starting pitching during the series with Gwinnett, scattering five hits with one walk and five strikeouts over his 6.0 innings of work. With the effort, Bats starting pitchers have now combined for a 1.67 ERA (5er/27.0ip) through the first five games of the series.

The Stripers hung around though, and just one night after scoring the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, rallied with four runs in the seventh on Saturday to break a 1-1 stalemate and secure another late win.

Sean Kazmar and Drew Waters coaxed back-to-back walks to begin the seventh and Riley Unroe singled to load the bases with no outs. Ryan Casteel then dealt the decisive blow with a bases-clearing double that chased Bats reliever Josh Osich and put the game out of reach.

Cheslor Cuthbert, Rocky Gale and Robinson each finished with two-hit games for the Bats in the defeat.

Louisville will go for the series split with Gwinnett Sunday at 1:05 p.m. at Coolray field. Right-hander Ashton Goudeau (1-0, 0.00) is set to face Stripers RHP Bryse Wilson (1-0, 0.00).
