
Tacoma Defiance Falls at Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday Night

TACOMA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance (2-5-0, 6 points) on Saturday evening dropped a 5-0 decision at Las Vegas Lights FC (2-3-1, 7 points). The match was the second in a stretch of five consecutive away contests for Tacoma. Irvin Parra recorded a hat trick to lead Las Vegas, while Preston Tabort Etaka netted two goals for the hosts.
Las Vegas took an early lead when a loose ball found the foot of Etaka in the area and he finished to the right corner of the goal in the 11th minute. Parra scored his first of the evening on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute that missed the outstretched arms of Defiance goalkeeper Trey Muse.
Nine minutes later, Parra completed his first-half brace to put Las Vegas ahead, 3-0. He received a pass while streaking down the far sideline and took four dribbles before finishing past Muse. In the 50th minute, Etaka completed his own brace to give the home side a 4-0 advantage.
Parra netted his third goal of the evening in the 60th minute on a header in the box, his fourth goal in his last two games. The hat trick was the second in Lights FC history.
Five players under the age of 20 saw action for Tacoma tonight, including one First Team player in Muse.
Tacoma Defiance continues its five-match road stretch on Saturday, April 20 at Phoenix Rising FC (7:30 p.m. PT / ESPN+). The club then travels to Texas to face San Antonio FC on Friday, April 26 (5:30 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
