Expansion NM United Continue Their Unbeaten Start to the Season

April 13, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
New Mexico United News Release

(Albuquerque, NM) Seven games in. Zero losses. New Mexico United notched their third win of the season as they defeated Real Monarchs SLC, 5:1.

It was the visitors who would find the net first. Jack Blake got free in the box in the 16th minute, and punished the United defensive lapse, but that would be all for the Monarchs. Santi Moar went off, and by the 40th minute, he'd notched a hat trick. Kevaughn Frater added another in the second minute of stoppage, and Chris Wehan would provide the fifth goal dagger in the 79th minute. Wehan also assisted on two goals, Frater on 1 and Sandoval on the 5th.

Save the one early error, United's defense was in excellent form. Captain Josh Suggs won 10 balls, and intercepted 5. Justin Schmidt cleared 10 balls, and Cody Mizell had 3 huge saves.

United now start preparations for next Saturday's road match at Reno 1868 FC.

Man of the Match

Santi Moar found the net three times and completed 88% of his passes. He clearly isn't resting on his laurels after winning the USL Championship Player of the Month.
