Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, have announced that RHP Ryne Tacker has been sent to the A's extended spring training complex in Arizona. Infielder Carlos Arrieche will remain with the Cougars and keep the Kane County roster at an active limit of 25 players.

Tacker, a 34th round pick last June by the A's, joined the Cougars from extended spring training on May 25. The 24-year old's only appearance was the following day as Tacker lasted just one inning, yielding three runs in the start.

A non-drafted free agent signee by the A's in 2002, Arrieche has played in 14 games - all at third base - for the Cougars, batting .234 with 3 RBIs.

The Cougars concluded a nine-game homestand with a 6-4 win over Wisconsin Saturday night. The team departs early tomorrow morning for Iowa as the club visits the Cedar Rapids Kernels for a four-game set before returning to Geneva Thursday.
