Fort Wayne, Ind.-Felix Carrasco went 4 for 4 with three doubles and three runs batted in as the Fort Wayne Wizards defeated the Dayton Dragons 10-4 in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday night. The Wizards won the first game 6-3.

Dayton completed its eight game road trip with a 3-5 record. Their overall mark fell to 25-28. They trail by two games in the Midwest League Eastern Division wildcard race with 15 games to play in the first half.

The Dragons jumped ahead with two runs in the top of the first inning when Brandon Waring drilled an opposite field home run, his 11th of the season, with two outs and the bases empty, and the next three Dragons collected base hits. Logan Parker, Denis Phipps, and Michael McKennon each singled with Parker scoring on McKennon's hit to make it 2-0.

But the Wizards exploded for five runs in the bottom of the first inning as seven straight batters reached safely with one out. In the second, Dragons starting pitcher Luis Montano retired the first two batters before the next four Fort Wayne hitters all collected two-base hits to add three more runs and give the Wizards a commanding 8-2 lead. They added one more in the third and one in the sixth before the Dragons closed out the scoring with two in the seventh.

Montano (6-3) had a rough night for the Dragons. He lasted just one and two-thirds innings and allowed 10 hits and eight earned runs with one walk and no strikeouts to suffer the loss.

The Dragons finished with nine hits. McKennon had two hits and an RBI and Parker also added two hits.

Fort Wayne collected eight doubles in the game including four consecutively in the second inning and six over the first two innings.

The Dragons return home Sunday to host West Michigan at 4:00 p.m. (WING 1410 AM). Josh Ravin (1-1, 3.60) will start for Dayton.
