T-Bones Lose in Historical Fashion

LAREDO, Texas - Unable to get on track Wednesday night, the Kansas City T-Bones suffered the largest shutout in team history, 21-0, to Laredo at Uni-Trade Stadium.
Although they got eight hits, the T-Bones couldn't establish their offense and couldn't slow down the Lemurs' offense. After a four-run first inning and a one-run second, Laredo blew the game open with nine runs in the third inning.
Kansas City starting pitcher Connor Graham (0-2) worked just 2+ innings and was roughed up with double-digit runs and hits - both 11 - and Kansas City used five relievers for the remaining six innings. Still, the Lemurs racked up 26 hits and walked only four times.
The Lemurs broke three Kansas City franchise records with the 21-0 win: largest shutout by an opponent (previous was 16-0 in 2004 against St. Paul), widest margin of defeat (previous was 18 in a 22-4 loss to Fargo-Moorhead in 2010) and most hits given up (24 in the 2010 game against Fargo-Moorhead).
Laredo starting pitcher Greg Wilborn (4-2) pitched a complete game shutout for the Lemurs.
After finishing the roadtrip with a 4-3 record, Kansas City (26-39) is off Thursday before starting a seven-game homestand, which will include four games next week against Laredo. First up, however, is El Paso at 7:05 on Friday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
