Lemurs Burn the T-Bones

Laredo, TX - The Laredo Lemurs score a franchise high 21 runs, and tie a league record with 26 hits, to beat the Kansas City T-Bones 21-0 on Wednesday night at Uni-Trade Stadium. 

The Lemurs started off the hot hitting night with a four run first, picking up five hits in support of starter Greg Wilborn. 

The Lemurs would continue the T-Bones thrashing in the third with a big nine run inning that saw 14 Lemurs come to the plate, picking up eight hits.  The bottom of the third was topped off by a Brian Peterson grand slam home run.  Peterson ended the day going two for three, with five RBI, and three runs scored.  

Other Lemurs that got in on the action include Mike Provencher who picked up four hits, three runs, and three RBI.  Jimmy Mojica pitched in with three hits, three runs, and three RBI.  John Alonso had four hits, two runs, and four RBI.  John Allen had four hits, a run, and a RBI.  Mike Sheridan picked up three hits, with a run, and two RBI.  Garrett Rau went four for five with three runs and a RBI.  

Starting pitcher Greg Wilborn was lights out for the Lemurs on the mound as he pitched a complete game shut out to support the Lemurs high offensive output.  Wilborn finished the night without allowing a run, on eight hits, with four walks, and five strikeouts.  Wilborn has not allowed a run to score this year at Uni-Trade Stadium in five starts.  

The Lemurs now welcome in division rival Amarillo for three a three game set starting Thursday night at 7:30pm.  The Lemurs currently hold a game and a half lead over the Sox.
