T-Bones Drop Finale in Laredo

Kansas City Monarchs News Release

LAREDO, Texas - The T-Bones were unable to get a sweep against first-place Laredo on Sunday afternoon, as the Lemurs took advantage of two Kansas City errors and erased an early deficit in a 4-2 win at Uni-Trade Stadium.

As was the case for all three games against Laredo, Kansas City raced to a lead in the first inning. On Sunday it was a 1-0 lead as Trevor Coleman recorded an RBI double that scored Felix Molina from first base. The T-Bones extended their lead in the second inning, as Brandon Jones, who led the inning off with a double, scored on a Jairo Perez triple.

The Lemurs, however, erased that Kansas City lead with two runs in the third and two unearned runs in the fourth, when Garrett Rau tripled against starter Shaun Garceau (0-3), and scored Brian Peterson and Marcos Rodriguez. Garceau kept Kansas City in the game, however, pitching seven innings and retiring the last 10 batters he faced.

Kansas City finishes the six-game road trip with a 3-3 record, including 2-1 against first-place Laredo.

The T-Bones return home Monday for a seven-game homestand. They'll start with four games against Sioux City. Aaron Meade (1-1) is scheduled to start for Kansas City on Monday night at 7:05, while Sioux City will counter with Andy Noga (1-2). Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618 or at tbonesbaseball.com. Monday's radio broadcast will be on 610-Sports or online at tbonesbaseball.com.
