Explorers Drop 4-2 Decision To Lincoln

Sioux City-----For the second consecutive game, the Explorers came up short in losing 4-2 to Lincoln Sunday at Lewis and Clark Park. The loss drops the Explorers to two games under the .500 mark for the first time this season.

Sioux City averted a shutout by scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning after two were out and had the tying runs on base when the final out was recorded.

Sioux City native Joe Bisenius came within the final out of pitching a complete game for the Saltdogs, striking out ten and was working on a two-hit shutout going into the ninth. R.J. Rodriguez came in a got the final out to record his league leading seventh save of the season in eight games.

Leugim Barroso led the X's with two hits and broke up Bisenius no-hit bid with a single to lead off the third inning.

Jason Jarvis, the starter for the Explorers took the loss to drop his record to 2-2.

The Explorers will now embark on a seven-game road trip starting Monday with a 7:05 game at Kansas City.
