Grand Prairie AirHogs News Release

Amarillo- The Amarillo Sox came to play in game two of a three game series Saturday night, by winning 11-4 against the AirHogs, and evening the series. The AirHogs didn't find much positive this game except for the number of hits they got. They combined for a total of 10 hits. This didn't convert to runs for the Hogs. Some of the big producers for the AirHogs were Angel Flores, Brian Myrow, and new guy Frazier Hall. Flores went 2-for-5 and drove in a run. Myrow went 2-for-5 and scored a run. Hall broke his streak of two hitless games in a big way. He went 3-for-5 and drove in one run. His batting average jumped from .000 to .273. The team left 14 on base over the course of the game compared to only the five that Amarillo left on base.

James Adkins was on the mound and received the loss for the AirHogs. He only went four innings on the mound leaving a lot of work for the bullpen. He gave up eight runs but only five were unearned. Derrick Miramontes came out to try to turn things around but gave up three earned runs of his own. He pitched two innings of relief. Jakob Cunningham pitched the final two innings and gave up no runs in his effort. He struck out one and has his season ERA at 2.84.

With the series tied 1-1, tomorrow's game will decide who wins the series. Jake Cowan will start for the AirHogs and the game will begin at 6:05 P.M.
