Syracuse Mets News Release
The Syracuse Chiefs are excited to announce their 3rd annual Reopening Day, presented by NBT Bank. Reopening Day will take place on Saturday, June 25th when the Chiefs take on the Toledo Mud Hens at 7:05. The night features a baseball-bat giveaway, an appearance from former MLB All-Star Bill Buckner, Boy Scout Sleepover Night and postgame fireworks.
"This is why we created Reopening Day", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. "With giveaways, autographs and fireworks, we can re-energize our team and fans and get a much better chance at great weather!"
22-year Major-League veteran Bill Buckner will sign autographs during Reopening Day from 7:15 to 9:15 on the stadium concourse. Buckner, who will throw out the game's ceremonial first pitch, will also host a VIP meet-and-greet in the Hank Sauer Room from 5:30 to 6:30 before the game. VIP tickets, available for $100, include access to the meet and greet for autographs, photos and conversation, a full buffet and a ticket to that night's game. Tickets, which are available in a limited number, are currently being sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Reopening Day doubles as a Super Saturday, so fans can receive a special giveaway. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will take home a full-size baseball bat, courtesy of NBT Bank.
Reopening Day is also the third Super Pack night of the Chiefs' season. Fans who purchase a Super Pack are guaranteed four full-size baseball bats, in addition to four reserved box tickets, a voucher for four Hofmann hot dogs, four Coca-Cola soft drinks and a tub of popcorn, and a merchandise coupon. This $80 value can be purchased for just $55 at syracusechiefs.com, by calling 474-7833 or in person at the NBT Bank Stadium ticket office. Super Packs are limited to 100 total per game, and are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Local Boy Scouts will be celebrated on Reopening Day with Boy Scout Night, also presented by NBT Bank. Boy Scouts from the Syracuse area can participate in a pregame on-field parade around the stadium's warning track. After a postgame fireworks spectacular for all fans in attendance to enjoy, Boy Scouts can camp out for a postgame sleepover in the outfield, where a movie will be played on the stadium video board. Boy Scouts must register in advance for this postgame sleepover. To register, email Arnold Malloy at amalloy@syracusechiefs.com or call 474-7833.
In true Opening Day fashion, full lineups and rosters for the Chiefs and Toledo Mud Hens will be announced prior to the game. Fans can also expect to see patriotic bunting in the tradition of Opening Day hung throughout the stadium.
Tickets for Reopening Day and all other Chiefs games are available and can be purchased at syracusechiefs.com, by calling 474-7833 or in person at the NBT Bank Stadium ticket office.
