Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that the club has signed Mexican forward Fernando Gonzalez Delfin, pending receipt of his P1-Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and approval from the USL Championship and US Soccer.
Fernando made 3 appearances in Liga MX, 2 appearances in Copa MX and 14 appearances for the U20 team last season while at Club America, scoring 5 goals. He last appeared for the Mexican U21s last fall in a friendly against Germany.
"Fernando will give us an additional goal-scoring threat as we head into the stretch run of the season. His movement and finishing ability should be a great compliment to the chances currently being created by our side," said Switchbacks Team General Manager, Brian Crookham. "We are thankful to ownership for their willingness to invest in this window as we look to close the current 8 point gap between us and the playoff line."

The Switchbacks are on the road for their next two games when they take on Sacramento Republic FC on August 17th and Fresno FC on August 24th. The Switchbacks return to Weidner Field on August 31st to face the Phoenix Rising FC on Free Underwear Night. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free pair of Switchbacks underwear courtesy of Sheath. Full 16oz beers will be available for $1 for the first 30 minutes after gates open at 5:00 PM. Tickets start at just $12 and are available HERE. For the price of a Switchbacks ticket and 2-5 beers, it is cheaper than buying 2-5 beers at a bar or restaurant.
