Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release

Myrtle Beach, S.C. - With the Lynchburg Hillcats leading 6-3 in the bottom of the third inning, the skies emptied and the lightning began to strike at BB&T Coastal Field. The heavy rain and lightning continued for well over an hour as the decision was made to postpone the game. The two teams will finish the game tomorrow, Friday, August 1st starting at 6:05 p.m. and play a seven-inning game following the completion of the suspended game.

When the game resumes, the Pelicans will have runners at first and second with only one out in the bottom of the third inning. Pitchers have not been announced for the resumption of game one of the series.

Fans holding tickets for Thursday's game can redeem them at the BB&T Coastal Field Box Office for tickets of equal or lesser value for any remaining regular season 2008 home game. Tickets cannot be redeemed for Pelicans' post-season tickets.
