Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OMAHA, NE - On Thursday night, the Omaha Royals and Oklahoma RedHawks completed Wednesday night's suspended game at Rosenblatt Stadium, with the Royals rallying for a 4-3 victory. However, the regularly scheduled game between the two teams was postponed by the threat of severe weather. Royals General Manager Martie Cordaro made the call to postpone the game after hearing reports of several tornadoes touching down in Central Nebraska. The Royals and RedHawks will finish the series on Friday night with a doubleheader. First pitch for the opener is set for 5:05 p.m.
Gates to Rosenblatt Stadium will open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. To make up for the fact that the two teams only played five innings of baseball on this Thirsty Thursday night, $1 beer and Cokes will be sold during the first game of Friday's twinbill. Several Royals players will also be available for autographs between games in the stadium's concourse.
It's Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Night, presented by the SilverStone Group. The Royals players will wear red jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It's also Indy Car Night, with Indy race cars on display in front of the stadium, and fans will have a chance to win race tickets to the Iowa Speedway. Plus, it's another U.S. Cellular Dreams Come True Night, when one lucky fan who signed up at a U.S. Cellular store gets to be on the field during Omaha's batting practice and much more.
The night will be capped off with Werner Fireworks following the doubleheader, also presented by KGOR, KETV and The City Weekly!
In the opener, Royals lefty Tyler Lumsden (2-5, 6.41) faces right-hander Dustin Nippert (2-1, 5.27), who is on a rehab assignment for the Texas Rangers. In the nightcap, righty Brandon Duckworth (2-3, 4.79) takes the hill for Omaha and right-hander Kameron Loe (2-3, 5.14) will make the start for the RedHawks after just coming down from the Rangers.
For tickets, call the Royals ticket office at (402) 738-5100, or order and print tickets online at www.oroyals.com and at www.Etix.com.
