Right fielder Reggie Abercrombie led the way offensively for Round Rock, hitting a two-run homer in the sixth inning.
The only runs for the Zephyrs came from right fielder Valentino Pascucci, who hit his 11th home run of the year in the fourth inning, a two-run shot.
In Game 2 of the doubleheader (Game 4 of the series), Zephyrs starter Jose Diaz (1-5) got his fifth loss of the year after giving up all two runs on two hits in four innings of play. Diaz also walked five batters.
Express starter Chance Douglass (1-0) got his first win of the year after shutting out the Zephyrs in six innings. Douglass gave up only three hits. Reliever Chad Paranto picked up his third save of the season despite giving up a run on one hit in the final inning.
