MacLane's Gem Gives Tucson 4-1 Win

Tucson, AZ - The Sidewinders got their second straight in a 4-1 victory against Las Vegas on Thursday night.

Evan MacLane had his best outing in a Sidewinders uniform, going seven innings allowing four hits and giving up one run. He only walked one batter while striking out three to give him his second win of the season.

MacLane got run support in the fifth and sixth inning when the Sidewinders put up two runs in both innings. With the bases loaded in the fifth inning, Jamie D'Antona hit a line drive single off of shortstop Angel Chavez glove scoring two runs. An Evan MacLane RBI single drove in Wilkin Castillo and a wild pitch on the next batter brought in Jesus Merchan from third.

Las Vegas was able to put one run up in the sixth when Wilkin Ruan lead off the inning with triple and was brought in on a Chavez grounder.

The 51s threatened in the eighth with runners at the corners with no outs and reliever Leo Rosales was able to put the next three batters away to get his sixth save of the year.

The Sidewinders will face Las Vegas in the last game of the home stand at 6:30 PM on Friday night. RHP Billy Buckner (2-4, 5.28) is scheduled to start for Tucson. Right-hander Justin Orenduff (1-2, 5.40) will start for the 51s. The game will air live on COOL 1450 beginning at 6:20 p.m.
