Surge Lose Fourth Straight

Wichita Wind Surge News Release
TULSA, OK - The Wind Surge were able to muster a run in the top of the ninth but failed to rally back. The Drillers defeated the Wind Surge 4-1 and lead the series two games to none.
The Tulsa Drillers got three runs on the board in the bottom of the first and were helped by three fielding errors committed by the Wind Surge. Tulsa added one more run in the bottom of the second when Austin Gauthier hit a solo home run.
Wichita was able to get on the board in the top of the ninth. A fielding error committed by Drillers third baseman allowed DaShawn Keirsey Jr. to reach base and then a wild pitch delivered got him across home plate for a run.
Carlos Luna started his 13th game for Wichita. He pitched four innings, gave up four runs, two earned on four hits and struck out seven batters. He was credited with the loss.
Orlando Ortiz-Mayr got his AA debut in tonight's game for Tulsa as the starting pitcher. He pitched an exceptional six innings where he gave up no runs and only one hit. He also struck out three batters. He earned the win in his debut.
The Wichita Wind Surge fall to (4-4),(32-44) and the Tulsa Drillers improve to (3-5),(33-44). Tulsa leads the Coors Light Propeller Series 11-3 with ten games to play.
NOTES: The Wind Surge activated RHP Chad Donato form the development list. They also placed RHP Pierson Ohl on the development list. Alex Scherff improved his streak of games where he has not allowed a run to six games, seven and two thirds innings.
