The Somerset Patriots defeated the Atlantic City Surf 3-1 before 2425 Thursday night at Sandcastle Stadium.
Right-handed Steve Falteisek shut down Atlantic City''s offense allowing just five hits and one earned run in eight innings of work. Falteisk outworked Anthony Chavez who gave up 10 hits and three runs in eight innings of work.
The two teams meet again Friday night at Sandcastle Stadium. A post-game fireworks show will follow the game. Atlantic City''s Dave Carroll will face Rick Krivda.
