Suns Walk off a Winner in Extras, 5-4

Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (60-40/18-13) won a back and forth affair with the Lakewood BlueClaws (43-57/17-14), 5-4, at Municipal Stadium on Monday night.

Matt Skole led the Suns with three hits including a towering home run and the game winning single in his first game off the disabled list. Caleb Ramsey also had three hits, an RBI, and scored the game-winning run.

Suns' starter Blake Schwartz pitched well in his debut with the Suns, going 5.1 innings giving up four hits and three runs in a no-decision. Colin Bates (5-3) pitched two innings of scoreless ball to earn the win.

BlueClaws' starting pitcher Holby Milner pitched 4.0 innings giving up seven hits and three runs. Austin Brough (0-1) pitched just 0.2 innings and took the loss in relief. Maikel Franco and Aaron Altherr each hit solo home runs in the Lakewood effort.

The Suns and BlueClaws will play game two of the series on Tuesday morning at 10:35 a.m. when LHP Christian Meza (5-1, 2.86) makes the start for Hagerstown against Lakewood's LHP Ethan Stewart (4-8, 3.43).
