
Suns Take 9-2 Win over Braves

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves lost to the Hagerstown Suns 9-2 Tuesday night before a crowd of 2,206 at State Mutual Stadium.
The Suns were on the board first in the third inning as Matthew Skole hit a solo homerun to give Hagerstown 1-0 advantage. The Suns would strike again in the fourth on RBI doubles by Jason Martinson and Adrian Nieto and a sac fly by Billy Burns giving Hagerstown a 5-0 lead. The Braves answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Fernando De Los Santos doubled in Kyle Kubitza and Felix Marte singled to right field, allowing De Los Santos to score, cutting the lead 5-2.
Braves pitching couldn't keep Hagerstown quiet and the Suns would score four more in the seventh inning, highlighted by a two RBI triple by Caleb Ramsey. The Suns bullpen held Rome the rest of the way for the 9-2 final.
Brian Dupra (1-3) recorded the win for Hagerstown after coming on in the sixth to relieve Ben Hawkins. Dupra only gave up one hit in three innings of work. A.J. Holland (1-3) got the loss for Rome after relinquishing six hits and five runs in four innings pitched.
